Just got L4D2, trying to play splitscreen co-op offline...player 2 presses start, signs in as guest, then I get a screen that says not connected to Live...we just want to play offline...the person I'm playing with cant sign in to her profile either.

This is actually the only way I usually play Left 4 Dead, playing split-screen with my wife. If that is the case, I think you'll be just fine online.
